Our product & team

This role is within the team that develops CSQ Quote & Order a cuttingedge order management and quoting platform. Built using the latest tech our platform modernizes industries like telecommunications and banking.

Our team is 100 remote but you must live in Australia to apply for this role.

About the role

Were seeking an experienced technical writer based in Australia who can work closely with our software engineering teams to produce engaging concise accurate consistent and most of all useful documentation to help our customers and partners use our platform and integrate with our systems. Youll value precise direct and fussfree language that gets the message across as succinctly and clearly as possible.

Youll take a handson approach to writing documents by making sure you step through every part of the user journey yourself to understand exactly what information your documentation needs to convey and to uncover any issues with our software that might get in the way of customers success. Over time youll become a Subject Matter Expert for our software enabling you to make an impact on user experience and product design within our Product Management team.

If youre our ideal candidate youll have worked with OpenAPI schemas and be able to make API calls using tools such as Postman and Bruno. Youll also be familiar with checking out code using Git and running CLI commands to connect to our environments.

What you will do

While your responsibilities will evolve heres what youll dive into:

  • Systems Integration documentation: Work alongside our development teams to produce stepbystep procedures for integrating with our platform as well as documents that define and contextualize what each part of our code is used for.
  • API documentation: Translate our API functionality into easytofollow instructions for writing API requests and understanding responses.
  • User manuals and task guides: Guide our users on the path to success by helping them perform tasks within our often complex software and to understand where those tasks sit in the context of their user journeys.
  • Feature documentation: Provide an indepth guide to new and existing features including their industry context and bestpractise usage.
  • Release notes: Highlight the new features and improvements within each platform release and help users understand how these features and improvements might benefit them.

  • Work from anywhere: CSGs Flexibility First policy allows employees to work from wherever they feel most productive however PLEASE NOTE that you must live in Australia to apply for this role. The Quote & Order team does not maintain a dedicated office space so your position will be 100 remote with the exception of several inperson workshops during the year (in Bali see below and Melbourne).
  • Twiceyearly workshops in Bali: Twice a year the whole Quote & Order team gets together at a resort in Bali Indonesia for dedicated inperson time including team presentations hackathon sessions training and teambuilding activities.
  • Paid volunteer days: Everyone at CSG gets two paid days per year to volunteer at a community organisation of their choice.
