Supervisor Mexico Operations Job Specific Tasks and Duties
This section lists the jobspecific tasks and duties that are completed on a regular basis by the employee.
- Work with Tradewin US employees to determine and execute specific tasks and activities
- Use Tradewin or Customer systems to:
- Create Commercial and Shipping Documents
- Review companies and people against government lists for matches
- Request documents from Mexico US and Canadabased suppliers
- Communicate with suppliers in Spanish and English on Free Trade Agreement data and document requirements predominately USMCA CUSMA TMEC.
- Supervise a team of 15 trade analysists based in Mexico. Conduct interviews and performance reviews provide employee feedback and assist with hiring decisions.
- Oversee operational activities performed by trade analysists in Mexico.
- Provide consulting advice to US companies on issues in the Mexico market including but not limited to Classification Free Trade Agreement use Import and Export requirements and the IMMEX program.
- Work collaboratively with Expeditors colleagues in Mexico.
Qualifications :
Below are requirements for the position:
- University degree in International Business (or related field);
- 35 years of prior experience in customs brokerage free trade agreements and/or foreign trade management;
- Understanding of the HTS Classification schedule and process;
- Understanding of and experience with document solicitation and bill of material qualification (Origin Analysis) for free trade agreements
- Understanding of and experience with Pedimento
- Competent PC skills including all Microsoft Office applications. Power BI SharePoint and SAP or Oracle experience desired;
- Effective interpersonal skills;
- Prior supervisory experience;
- Proficient spoken and written English;
- Able to maintain strong relationships with all internal stakeholders;
- Able to drive processes and process improvements without supervision.
The below skills and abilities are preferred but not mandatory:
- Experience with IMMEX audits and IMMEX program management
- Participation and understanding of supply chain security programs (OEA/CTPAT)
- Pedimento Accuracy Audits
