Job Description

This is a hybrid role that will be based at our office in Cambridge MA

About This Role:
As the Senior Manager Manufacturing Operations Strategy you will join the dynamic Global Engineering and Technical Services Organization playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of Biogen. In this strategic position you will collaborate in the development of business cases that drive key investment decisions focusing on new modalities and the longterm objectives they present.

You will be at the forefront of data analysis employing advanced statistical modeling to deliver valuable insights and visualize data to inform operational strategies. Your financial acumen will enable you to conduct robust financial analyses emphasizing strategic value and operational expenditure impact. You will also be responsible for ensuring efficient manufacturing capacity utilization and developing endtoend operational network designs. This role is crucial in aligning with Biogens commitment to innovation and excellence and you will be integral in ensuring robust product supply through effective scenario planning.

What Youll Do:

  • Develop critical longrange manufacturing strategies and plans taking into account operational factors and factory capacity limits.
  • Consolidate asset longrange demand plans and develop capacity utilization scenarios.
  • Create decision trees related to capacity utilization based on investment drivers.
  • Gather analyze and interpret multifaceted data sets including production data and cost structures.
  • Employ advanced statistical models to evaluate and optimize the manufacturing network.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to present findings and provide actionable insights to executive management.
  • Develop decision support analytics for network design and supply chain configurations for new products.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align operational strategies with broader organizational goals.
  • Communicate strategic objectives to senior leadership and operational teams ensuring alignment and achievement.
  • Lead evaluations across modalities to establish core business competencies and provide competitive advantages.
  • Support business case development for technology and infrastructure investments.
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives that will provide long term strategic benefits.

Qualifications :

You are an analytical thinker with a strategic mindset keen on leading crossfunctional initiatives in a biotechnology environment. You possess deep expertise in data analysis and have a talent for transforming complex information into actionable strategies. With a collaborative spirit you engage with teams across the organization aligning operational goals with broader business objectives. You are proactive with a high learning agility and the ability to synthesize information quickly and effectively. Your communication skills enable you to convey complex concepts with clarity and impact at all levels of the organization. You thrive in a role that requires balancing strategic operational and technical abilities and are driven to have a meaningful impact beyond your immediate scope.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in science or engineering. A masters degree and commensurate experience may also be considered
  • 7 years of experience in the biotechnology pharmaceutical or a similarly highly regulated industry
  • Experience in manufacturing operations and strategic planning with engagement in Technology Development or Engineering
  • Experience with data visualization tools and multivariable simulation
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and ROI assessments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous business problems
  • Proven ability to facilitate decisionmaking among groups with diverse perspectives
  • High learning agility and adeptness in information synthesis
  • Strong collaborative nature and a proactive approach to business impact
  • Aptitude for continuous improvement and innovation


Additional Information :

The base salary range for this position is $127000$170000. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including but not limited to relevant skills & experience job location and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and longterm incentives including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual business unit and company performance.
