Male Support Worker (PartTime)
Location:Cringleford Norfolk
Hours:20 hours per week on a Thursday/Friday
Pay:12.50 per hour

Our personal care assistantsjoin our clients support team providing reliable essential care and supportin their home. You will be employed byHomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support themonly. This role is parttime 20 hoursper week on a Thursday and Friday.
About the Client and Duties
Our client is a quietgentleman who likes to stay at home. Hisinterests include Manchester United gaming reading and crime programmes. We are looking to recruit a personal careassistant who can motivate him to do his daily chores and who will assist himaround his home with general housework and cooking. You will also accompany our client out in thecommunity with social activities and to appointments.
There is no personal careinvolved in this role however you will be required to assist with personalcare when needed during/after a seizure.
The role and client can bechallenging so having a good understanding of mental health is important toprovide proper support for his wellbeing. While driving is not required you should becomfortable around dogs as the family has an energetic and affectionatecockapoo.
Requirements
Training and Support:
We provide comprehensive paidtraining to CQC standards covering:
- Full induction
- Safeguarding Adults
- Health & Safety and First aid
- Food Hygiene
- Medication Care Needs
- PTSD / Mental Health Awareness
- Challenging Behaviour / PBS / Behaviour Management
- All training must be completed before the start date withtraining hours paid at minimum wage
- This post is exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9Part 1 there is a genuine occupational requirement to recruit male supportworkers only
- Previous experience working in mental health
- You must be comfortable working around a dog
- Commitment to longterm personcentred care
- You must be reliable compassionate and committed torespecting confidentiality
