Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform highrisk terminations on medium voltage (up to 35kV) cables and equipment including Armor X terminations.
- Safely and efficiently install splice and terminate medium voltage cables used in distribution systems and related electrical components.
- Test and inspect electrical distribution systems to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Interpret blueprints wiring diagrams and other technical specifications to complete work assignments.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies especially regarding highrisk termination procedures like Armor X which provides enhanced mechanical protection and waterproofing for cables.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including those in distribution networks.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in medium voltage electrical work including work on distribution systems.
- Expertise in medium voltage cable termination including heat shrink cold shrink and Armor X terminations.
- Familiarity with medium voltage systems 5kV 35kV) and related equipment.
- Knowledge of NEC and other industry standards.
- Ability to work in highrisk environments while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics particularly for distribution systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in medium voltage termination techniques including Armor X is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred.
- Experience in testing and commissioning medium voltage distribution systems.
