About the College:
Green River College is made up of approximately 34AcademicTransfer 30 ProfessionalTechnical 11 Adult Basic Education 25 Continuing & Community Education students. In addition there are fivebachelorsof applied sciencefouryeardegrees offered. Green River College has four campuses including the main campus in Auburn with satellite campuses in Kent downtown Auburn and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college) those seeking retraining for the workforce internationalstudents studentslearning English as a second language and Continuing Education students. Teach to nontraditional students such as youth reengagement adult learners and/or students with disabilities
Advise students in theirhigh school completion goals andintransitioningto college and career pathways
Participatein departmental and divisionprocesses and initiatives whileperformingother duties as outlined in the negotiated faculty agreement
Continually update and develop new curriculum to serve the needs of TS students
Collaborate with collegewide faculty for curriculum alignment
Stay current with issues and trends in the field
KnowledgeSkillsand Abilities:
Competent withtechnology for instruction
Experience teaching nonnative speakers of English
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Adult Education or in a closely related subject area
Experience teaching reading writing andmath to students fromsecondarytoadulteducationin a classroomsetting or communitybased organization
Knowledge of and experiencewithadvising students in HighSchool Plus (HShigh school completion orothersecondary educationprograms
This is a fulltime tenuretrack position beginning Fall 2025 continuing with annual ninemonth contracts. The salary will be determined according to the candidates educational background teaching experience and applicable work experience.
This position has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by The Green River United Faculty Coalition.
