Guest Teacher for theSchool Year
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Legacy Charter School is a highperforming public charter school holistically educating 468 scholars in Kindergarten through 8th grade in Chicagos North Lawndale neighborhood. Our mission is to create an outstanding center for teaching and learning for children and their families that will recognize and nurture the full potential of every child provide a foundation for a college education and educate ourscholars to be creative and critical thinkers and responsible citizens in school at home and in the broader community.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Guest Teacher provides daily instruction in a teachers absence. They are responsible for maintaining a balanced learning environment while implementing the provided lesson plans as instructed. Whenever the Guest Teacher is not covering a class they will support daily operations which include but are not limited to writing tardy passes hallways supervision and any tasks communicated by leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate:
- Follows lesson plans as well as thinks creatively and problemsolves
- Seeks feedback is willing to learn and is coachable
- Has familiarity with GSuite (Google Drive Calendar Classroom) or is willing to learn
- Maintains a safe orderly classroom environment rooted in professionalism and mutual respect and Legacys core values
- Provides highquality datainformed instruction that is standardsbased rigorous and differentiated to meet diverse needs
- Understands how to deliver instruction in an organized way that maximizes scholar understanding and mastery of skills
- Develops positive and productive relationships within their classroom community with all staff members and Legacy families working in service of our scholars and implementing a restorative approach and a commitment to socialemotional learning
- Respects diverse people ideas and perspectives
- Excels in a fastpaced and multifaceted environment of a highperforming Chicago charter school with grace collaboration and a solutionorientation
Requirements
- Must have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must have a Professional Educators License or Substitute License (or be willing to obtain it prior to starting the role).

COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience.
