We have a newopportunity for a Catering Coordinator to join our Melbourneoffice on a permanent fulltime basis.
The Cateringteam forms part of Office Services which includes Front of House(Reception) Service Hub (mailroom) andSwitchboard.
In this roleyou will be providing excellent service for client and employeemeetings and functions in a friendly professional manner. You willensure that all meetings and functions are catered forappropriately and that the client area breakout spaces andkitchens are always kept clean and tidy.
In this rolethere are two alternating weekly shifts 9.00 am to 5.30 pm and7.30 am to 4.00 pm).
You will beinvolved in:
- working with the Catering team on coordinating all aspects of the catering function within the Melbourne office;
- assisting the Front of House Coordinator with offering and preparing tea/coffee and refreshments for client and internal meetings;
- monitoring Catering inbox throughout the day and take responsibility for catering requirements liaising with internal team regarding catering requests and booking/ordering catering for meetings;
- preparing setting up and serving of catering for client and firm events;
- ensuring compliance with food safety hygiene and food handling/preparation procedures;
- ensuring meeting rooms kitchens and breakout areas are kept presentable on all floors;
- maintaining cleaning and restocking kitchen commodities cleaning supplies and equipment on all floors including ordering groceries and supplies online;
- providing quotes for catering as required;
- setup of weekly Thursday/Friday night drinks;
- working with internal clients to finalise menus for events;
- processing supplier invoices including allocating in Chrome River;
- reviewing suppliers against costs and quality;
- in conjunction with the Events team organise external functions;
- booking inducting and supervising external chef and wait staff;
- coordinating catering for offsite functions i.e. kosher meals;
- completing a regular stock rotation in all kitchens and storage rooms to mitigate stock loss;
- developing and maintaining internal and external relationships;
- providing reception and switchboard coverage when required; and
- ad hoc duties as and when required.
Aboutyou
You willideally have the following skills and experience:
- hospitality qualification or minimum level 1 Food & Safety Handler certificate;
- responsible Service of Alcohol certificate;
- minimum 3 years experience in a similar position preferably in a corporate environment;
- solid understanding of food safety hygiene;
- experience working within a team fostering a supportive environment while taking a lead in mentoring and guiding the team;
- experience with organising corporate functions;
- excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise effectively;
- exceptional customer service skills with ability to interact with all business levels;
- excellent communication skills verbal and written;
- proficient in technology;
- ability to work under pressure and problem solve;
- have strong attention to detail;
- demonstrates initiative;
- strong interest in and flair for catering; and
- strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
