Job Description

Completion of graduate core program in business management or public administration public health health administration social or behavioral science or public finance AND 36 mos. exp. in planning & administering health services program or health services project management (e.g. health care data analysis health services contract management health care market & financial expertise; health services program communication; health services budget development HMO & hospital rate development health services eligibility health services data base analysis).

Or 12 months experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 2 65296. Note: education & experience is to be commensurate with approved position description on file.

Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

The Division of Medicaid Development and Administration works with state agency personnel and stakeholders to develop policies related to Medicaid funded services for people with developmental disabilities.

What will you do

Under direction from the Deputy Director of Medicaid Development & Administration the Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 3 (MHSA3 will responsibly manage operations of various Medicaid programs & initiatives (e.g. Targeted Case Management Home & Community Based Wavier Services etc. that impact various offices & processes within the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) & other affected agencies (e.g. Ohio Department of Medicaid county boards of developmental disabilities etc..

The Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 3 will be involved with various tasks including but not limited to:

  • Formulating & overseeing implementation of business operations for the Office of Medicaid to ensure delivery of Medicaid programs overseeing claims payment provider certification and the provider call center
  • Implementing policy guidance & providing strategic planning support to DODD Director & Medicaid Deputy Director in the development & implementation of various Medicaid long term care health services forindividuals with developmental disabilities
  • Coordinating with other staff to evaluate program effectiveness in meeting established goals & objectives
  • Coordinating program policies & procedures project initiatives &/or proposed legislation with other agencies (e.g. Ohio Department of Medicaid; Ohio Department of Aging)
  • Gathering & using current health services research & analytical data from both internal & external sources during the development of policies & initiatives in order to gain a better understanding of trends & patterns in the area of Medicaid
  • Developing & presenting training sessions & meetings in order to educate others (e.g. providers families county board staff state staff) regarding new or revised policies
  • Representing agency in conferences seminars workshops & meetings
