Compensation plans are based on a multistep progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies**
Thefundamental reason this position exists is to receive emergency andnonemergency telephone calls from the public to the Montgomery EmergencyCommunications Center (ECC) using a highly specialized computer telephonysystem and software application and enter data received into a computerizeddispatch system to assist dispatcher(s) with emergency response. The work responsibilities include processingemergencies; initiating and performing Emergency Medical Dispatch; query enterand receive critical law enforcement information using local state andnational level database systems and performing departmentadministrative/clerical duties. ECOIsreport directly to a Public Safety Communications Supervisor.
Applicantsmust have a high school diploma or must have completed a data entry operations course at atechnical institute or six 6 months of experience as a data entry operatortelephone operator or a receptionist type position receiving and/ortransmitting telephone radio or alarm system calls.
NOTE: Qualifyingeducation training and experience that provide the requisite knowledgeskills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
As a condition of continuedemployment you must pass a background check and drug test. Must be willing to respond to the EmergencyCommunications Center when requested for manmade and natural disasters thatcould include working irregular hours weekends holidays and evenings. Employee mustobtain and maintain certification for APCO Emergency Medical Dispatcher and be 18 years old.
Full-Time
