Job Description
The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a oneyear sabbatical replacement faculty position in organic chemistry at the rank of Instructor beginning August 25 2025. The successful candidate will teach organic chemistry lecture and labs as well as other chemistry courses as needed by the department. The home campus for this position is CUBloomsburg with the expectation of serving a multicampus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. About the Department: The Department of Physical and Environment Sciences features approximately 50 faculty that teach in the areas of biochemistry and chemistry physics and engineering and environmental sciences. Our Chemistry programing is approved by the American Chemical Society ACS and the PreMedicine and Biochemistry tracks are accredited by the American Society of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology ASBMB . The department promotes handson laboratory experiences so students are prepared for various postgraduate career trajectories. More information can be found at the department page . About the College: Physical and Environmental Sciences is one of seven departments in the College of Health Science and Technology at Commonwealth University. Duties
1 Teach and develop courses/laboratories in organic chemistry. 2 Participate in service activities for the program department college university and the community as available. 3 Faculty are encouraged to engage in other professional development opportunities including research as time and resources are available.
