TITLE: Technology Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate Massachusetts Licensure
- Bachelors Degree with major or minor in technology.
REPORTS TO:Principal
JOB GOAL:To provide relevant information in regard to current practices and procedures in Technology Education. Integrate theory and practice in teaching students how to transfer knowledge to situations that are typical of everyday life.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate knowledge of technology clusters including manufacturing construction communication power and energy and transportation.
- Possess knowledge of basic skills in working with tools machines and materials.
- Reinforce basic skills of reading communication and mathematics in the context of technology education.
- Develop and modify curriculum to meet student need.
- Design and use evaluative procedures to measure student performance.
- Employ advanced levels of problem solving skills.
- Expertly address equity issues.
- Identify relationships between technology education and career awareness.
- Enforce and instruct safety as it relates to working with tools machines and materials.
- Encourage students to work collectively on designated projects.
- Develop individual and group work skill.
- Establish and maintain standards of student conduct needed to provide an orderly and safe environment in an activitytype classroom with many potential hazards.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
In accordance with the Fall River Educators Association contract.
Continued employment is contingent on work performance program need and funding.
