GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Career Technical Education (CTE) teacher plans implements and evaluates pathway programs and handson learning activities to maximize the successful outcomes of each individual student by preparing students for highskill highwage careers that are consistent with District goals and objectives.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement a sequential CTE Pathway that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students; E
- Create a classroom/lab environment that is conducive to learning the technical skills outlined in the California CTE Model Curriculum Standards appropriate to meet current industry needs; E
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of CTE Pathway student outcomes. Establish clear objectives for all lessons implement pathway standards with fidelity develop ProjectBased Learning (PBL) opportunities and create competency based lessons to support the learn by doing aspect of teaching CTE; E
- Evaluate the learning accomplishments of each student and provide regular progress reports career assessment inventories and industry certificates based on the mastery of related technical skills; E
- Demonstrate effective classroom and lab management; E
- Communicate with parents teachers administrators and school counselors on student performance and pathway progress; E
- Identify student needs and collaborate with other professionals for the academic career social emotional and overall success of each student; E
- Collaborate with District staff to develop and maintain professional relationships with industry professionals in order to incorporate Work Based Learning (WBL) experiences in and out of school assist in developing internship opportunities for students engage in apprenticeship partnerships for interested students and develop relevant curriculum that benefits all students; E
- Maintain professional competence;
- Optionally engage in personal and professional learning opportunities (such as externships for CTE teachers and/or industry training programs) and partner with local community colleges in pathway development and improvement;

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Certifications:
- Possession of a preliminary or clear qualifying CTE Single Subject or CTE Designated Subjects Teaching Credential or the ability to obtain one prior to employment;
- Possession of a Bachelors degree or possession of a high school diploma with at least three 3 years of full time 1000 hours) verifiable industry
Experience:
- One year of industry experience must be within the last five years or two years of industry experience within the last ten years;
- Parttime work experience may be cumulated to equate the required 1000 clock hours of work experience.
Licenses and Testing:
- Preemployment physical and drug test;
- Current and valid Tuberculosis (TB) clearance;
- Fingerprint clearance for school personnel;
- Possess a valid California driver license during the course of employment and be insurable by the Districts liability insurance
Knowledge and Skills of:
- The California CTE Model Curriculum Standards;
- Effective instructional strategies and practices;
- The California Education Code Beaumont Unified School District Board Policies and Administrative Regulations;
- An expert in their related Pathway/Industry Sector;
- Various technology applications;
- Safety standards related to the Pathway/Industry
