REWE digital Spain belongs to REWE Group one of the leading trade and tourism groups in Germany and Europe with around 390000 employees. In REWE digital overall there are over 2200 IT specialists who set standards for IT implementation in the retail industry and development of new technologies for the sector.
REWE digital Spain is located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga. As a team of 30 colleagues we drive innovation for REWE digital in Germany. Your newly founded team in Spain will administer data catalog and API management platforms to create transparency about data and APIs within REWE digital. In this respect your team is the basis for a modern IT infrastructure with decentral data ownership.
We are looking for an IT Engineer to support our transformation into a datadriven company by creating implementing and maintaining innovative technical solutions that enhance data and API transparency. Someone who administers the two platforms (Collibra and Gravitee) to provide the basis for a decentral data ownership. Experience with Collibra and Gravitee in particular is not mandatory.
What you will do:
- PlatformasaService(PaaS):TransformtheexistingplatformsintoPaaSsolutionscreatingselfservicecapabilitiesforinternalusersandclientsandstreamliningaccessfordifferentbusinessneeds.
- AutomationandDeployment:ImplementandmanageCI/CDpipelinesusingGitLabintegratedwithKubernetesforautomatedapplicationdeliveryandinfrastructuremanagement.
- CloudIntegration:HarnessthecapacityofGCPtomanagescalableandsecureplatformoperationsoptimizingforcostandperformance.
- Collaboration:Workcloselywithcrossfunctionalteamstogatherrequirementsdevelopsolutionsandprovidetechnicalguidance.
- Reliability:Implementrobustmonitoringandloggingsolutionsensuringproactiveplatformmanagementandquickincidentresolution.
KeySkills
- Kubernetes&Helm:MasteryindeployingandmanagingapplicationswithHelmchartsonKubernetesclusters.
- GitLabCI/CD:DeepknowledgeofCI/CDpracticeswithGitLabforstreamliningdeploymentprocesses.
- Docker:ProficiencyinusingDockerforcontainerizationandorchestrationofmicroservices.
- Logging&Monitoring:Expertiseinsettingupmonitoringloggingsystemsandalertstoensureplatformhealth(.
- Automation:Experiencewithautomatinginfrastructureandapplicationworkflowsforefficiencyandconsistency.
What you will bring:
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (e.g. GCP Azure)
- Several years of experience in Infrastructure as Code preferably in Terraform
- Some experience in programming languages like e.g. Python Java
- Strong understanding for the importance of data and meta data
- Knowledge of general concepts of databases and APIs
- Complete fluency in written and spoken English
- Excellent problemsolving skills and eager to learn and explore new languages
- You live in Spain and you have a valid work permit/VISA (without sponsorship)
Nice to have:
- Experience with data catalog and/or API management tools
- Experience with source systems for the data catalog such as Snowflake Google Big Query Microstrategy Tableau
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience in SQL
- German language skills
