Job Description
- Adheres to Brodstone Healthcares Mission Vision and Values.

- Draws blood from patients (adults children or infants) by venipuncture or capillary puncture as per procedure.
- After training and authorization performs arterial blood collection for blood gases and therapeutic phlebotomies.
- After training and certification does urine drug screen collection and breath alcohol testing for DOT and nonDOT accounts.
- Performs and documents routine maintenance quality control and patient testing on the beside glucose analyzer.
- Performs and documents routine maintenance and patient testing on the capillary coagulation/INR analyzer.
- Manages patient scheduling and test orders for outpatient lab orders.
- Performs medical necessity checking on all Medicare patient orders.
- Reviews the previous day lab and business office billing report.
- Responsible for stocking phlebotomy supplies various housekeeping duties and documenting daily laboratory temperatures.
- Participates in orientation of new personnel.
- Abides by the policies and procedures of the facility. Standards of conduct in the Compliance Plan and participates in the ongoing monitoring of activities with respect to compliance.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings / inservices Brodstone Healthcares quality improvement program etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
