The Department of Emergency Services is seeking to hire an intern for the Emergency Management Department. This internship is expected to last up to 12 weeks with a variable weekly schedule depending on projects and provides opportunities for learning growth and career development in a handson values and teambased work environment. The rate of pay is $17.00 $20.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
First review of applications will begin April 28 2025.
Assists with the development review and maintenance of emergency plans and procedures.
Supports the planning and evaluation of emergency exercises (tabletop functional or fullscale).
Conducts research and contributes to special projects and program initiatives.
Helps coordinate public outreach and community engagement activities including preparedness campaigns.
Works with the team to update and improve emergency response resources and protocols.
Assists with Emergency Operations Center (EOC) operations including support during emergency activations.
Participates in and supports emergency management trainings meetings and community events.
Assists in the preparation formatting and review of emergency management documents and materials.
High school diploma or equivalent; analytical skills including research skills ability to interpret data ability to conceptualize ability to analyze information and ability to write formal recommendations based on finding.
Must successfully complete a background investigation.
