Job Description

Are you a dynamic nurse leader with a passion for teamwork and driving excellence Join our team as a House Operations Manager (HOM) our equivalent to the nursing supervisor role in other organizations where you will lead a dedicated nursing staff in delivering safe compassionate and patientcentered care. In this pivotal role you will leverage your expertise to enhance clinical outcomes mentor the next generation of nurses and leaders and share the future of our inpatient healthcare services. Our HOM team leads and supports clinical operations within the adult hospital at the University Campus. You will work closely with unit charge nurses centralized staffing office interdisciplinary care team members and other nurse leaders throughout the organization. HOMs have the autonomy and responsibility to direct resources to provide safe highquality patient care.

An additional $12000 per year will be paid to the HOMs who work the weekend agreementwork a minimum of 552 weekend hours during each sixmonth period (JanJun; JulDec).

Key Areas of Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Provide leadership to establish and/or maintain efficient and effective systems to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Identify trends and determine quality initiatives and priorities

Monitor and maintain unit operating budget within specified targets. Analyze variances and create action plans to take corrective action. Understand financial implications of collective bargaining agreements

Follow and apply leave management policies. Knowledgeable of and implement human resources policies/procedures and provisions in the collective bargaining agreements

Allocate resources to meet quality and productivity expectations. Review patient satisfaction data and develop implement and evaluate plan(s) to enhance patient satisfaction. Ensure units are survey ready

Monitor/evaluate goal implementation and provide progress reports to nursing leadership

Advocate for needs of unit with healthcare leaders. Facilitate multidisciplinary participation in clinical problem solving.

Educate and mentor staff in the management of complex patient care issues. Provide clinical education and coaching to develop staff competency and professionalism. Participate in and support education of health care students

Encourage staff to participate in evidencebased practice research initiatives and incorporate best practices into unit operations

Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures nationalities genders ages etc

Ability to utilize existing resources and learning to achieve or exceed desired outcomes of current and future organizational goals/needs. Able to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations while producing results
