Overview:

  • Fulltime Continuing position

  • Salary Academic Level B 17 Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Based at the Bundoora campus but may be to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About You
The Lecturer in Biomedical Science will contribute to the teaching and research objectives of our School. This position will primarily focus on delivering teaching activities in human biosciences with a strong emphasis on biology chemistry and biochemistry. The key area of attention of this position will be within the Biomedical Science programs though the lecturer may also be called upon to contribute to other undergraduate and postgraduate programs within the School.

The incumbent is expected to actively maintain and enhance their scholarly research and/or professional expertise pertinent to Biomedical Science. Additionally their responsibilities include actively promoting our programs through the establishment and maintenance of memberships connections and partnerships with academic industry and professional communities. Collaboration and collegiality are highly valued and the lecturer will work closely with fellow academics within the teaching team ensuring that colleagues and students are consistently informed about the latest developments in their subject area or specialisation. The lecturer position will include course coordinator responsibility.

Furthermore the Lecturer will be expected to engage in research projects aligned with the Schools research focus areas. This involves collaborating with researchers within RMIT as well as at local and national levels and contribute to highquality research outputs thus contributing to the Schools research objectives.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in biology chemistry and biochemistry.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including online delivery and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or course materials.

  • Ability to undertake course coordination role.

  • Demonstrated ability to support student issues related to effective learning.

  • Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing School research areas.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.

  • Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate research funding.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates staff and industry together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

  • Demonstrated ability in the development of a qualitylearning environment for students through educational activities and/or research.
