TITLE: Electrician
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform skilled work in the installation maintenance and repair of electrical circuits systems andequipment; perform duties in collaboration with other trades areas as required in order to maintain Districtfacilities. Troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm intercom and security systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
- Five 5 years of experience as a skilled electrician; commercialexperience preferred
- Ability to obtain State of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Valid Arizona Drivers License

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install maintain and repair a variety of electrical equipment and controls including lighting systems branch circuitry power distribution and control circuitry.
- Install electrical services for new equipment including computer labs recirculation desks kitchen equipment copiers printers A/C units kilns classroom relocations.
- Troubleshoot maintain and service fire alarm systems for the safety of students and personnel.
- Maintain and service intercom systems kitchen equipment and security systems.
- Inspect and test various electrical systems for proper functioning.
- Revamp electrical systems for remodels and renovations.
- Support schools with electrical needs for other activities such as fund raising events PTA events and Kid Zone.
- Maintain records on time labor and materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of the tools equipment and materials common to the electrical trade
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes standards and regulations
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions
- Skill in the installation repair and maintenance of all types of electrical systems and components
- Skill in the care and use of hand tools and equipment necessary to perform various electrical repair tasks
- Skill in both verbal and written communication
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Ability to use graphic instructions such as blueprints schematic drawings layouts or other visual aids
