Job Description
Compex Electrician
One of our clients is seeking a qualified and experienced Compex Electrician to join their team at a power station in Kent. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant installation inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain electrical wiring control and lighting systems.
- Inspect repair and replace electrical components such as wiring fixtures transformers and circuit breakers.
- Perform general electrical maintenance and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
- Diagnose troubleshoot and repair electrical system issues and malfunctions.
- Read blueprints and schematics.
- Document repairs and modifications.
- Adhere to all relevant building codes safety procedures and industry standards including the National Electrical Code.
Qualifications and Skills:
- CompEx certification is essential
- Previous experience working in hazardous areas is a priority.
- Qualifications in electrical engineering or a related field are beneficial.
- Strong technical skills in electrical engineering.
- Ability to run conduit.
- Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with other skilled trades.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient equipment and products.
- Proficiency in using testing equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Up-to-date electricians license.
- First aid certification is desirable.
