Job Description

The Physics Department of the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenuretrack academic year faculty position inexperimental quantum information and quantum materials. We seek candidates with outstanding research and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring.

The new faculty member will join an active experimental and theoretical group and will complement existing strengths in superconducting circuits quantum simulation nonequilibrium quantum dynamics quantum error correction lowdimensional materials topological phases and precision manybody physics. The new member will also join a campuswide initiative in quantum information systems and materials. Further information about the Departments theoretical and experimental efforts can be found at must have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Physics or a related field with relevant postdoctoral experience.

Expected start date of this position is September 1 2025.
