** Temporary Summer Position with anticipated start date in June 2024
Hourly Rate: $13.00$15.00
Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate summer day camp curriculum and related activities with youth including but not limited to social skills education new games arts and crafts and life skills.
- Develop and deliver enhancement activities as appropriate to meet needs of youth and group.
- Assist Eckerd in maintaining culturally sensitive service delivery practices.
- Participate in inservice and other training as required.
- Adhere to Eckerd philosophy in caring for youth and ensure safe practices.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Course work in recreation and/or counseling a plus.
- One year working with youth in related activities. Experience in any direct human service helping role useful. Experience working with families in supportive and developmental capacity a plus.
- Organizational communication (verbal written listening) teaching motivation and creativity child development counseling activity planning implementation and evaluation.
- Ability to actively participate with youth in recreational activities.
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and DrugFree Workplace policy.

About our Program:
Eckerd Connects School based prevention services in Citrus County provide prevention education to students through a Universal Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) model called HiFive. HiFive is a multicomponent program that combines schoolbased prevention and intervention practices specifically designed to promote young peoples SEL. Lessons are taught using a sequences stepbystep learning approach using active forms of learning focusing on sufficient time on skill development and have explicit learning goals. HiFive Clubs provides students with opportunities to contribute to their school and community and experience the satisfaction sense of belonging and enhanced motivation that comes from such involvement.
