Job Description
The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for Administrative Assistant IV R0146719.
ROLE of the POSITION
Supporting and reporting to the Executive Director/Assistant VP of mental and behavioral health this position will be responsible for handling the financial policies and transactions of the organization analyzing financial reports and monitoring financial activities; consulting with senior leadership regarding goals and effective strategies and tactics to maximize the financial performance of the organization as it builds out its strategic plan under the academic health initiative; prepare financial statements/reports and assist senior leadership in making decisions to successfully implement new/special projects and strategic planning initiatives. This position oversees an annual operating budget of approximately $600000 (and growing) with multiple accounts across academic units and budgets associated with UNLV Foundation accounts (e.g. philanthropic gifts donations and pledges exceeding 1 million dollars). The position also actively supports thirdparty payor billing processes including provider credentialing claims reconciliation and other related tasks as needed to ensure efficient revenue cycle operations. The position requires fulltime attendance in person with no remote work option available (options for hours are Monday Friday 8am5pm 8:30am5:30pm or 9am6pm).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary unit where academic/education training and healthcare functions intersect.
Training or experience in medical/healthcare insurance billing processes.
Experience working with electronic medical record systems and health care front office tasks and functions (i.e. ground up background and experience).
Previous experience training and supervising support staff.

SALARY
Grade 29 Step 1 salary $ 50153.76. Step means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170 salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
