Job Description

Position Summary

Green River College welcomes individuals to apply who have a commitment to teach and the ability to utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success. Classes taught may include but are not limited to the following classes: Fundamentals of Computers Keyboarding Microsoft Applications classes (Word Excel Access PowerPoint Outlook and OneNote) Business Math Applications Business Correspondence Office Relations and Procedures Legal Office Procedures and other courses as needed.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
Green River Colleges student body is made up of approximately 41 Academic Transfer students 34 ProfessionalTechnicalstudents 15 Adult Basic Educationstudent and3 Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses including the main campus in Auburn Washingtonwith satellite campuses in Kent downtown Auburn and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college) those seeking retraining for the workforce international students students learning English and Continuing Education students. Green Rivers service areas are increasingly ethnically diverse comprising African Americans African immigrants Asian Americans Asians Latinx Native Americans Pacific Islanders and Middle Eastern Americans among other communities.

Position Responsibilities

This assignment may also include the following:

  • Conduct classroom instruction.
  • Research texts equipment and supplies for assigned courses.
  • Develop and update curriculum including eLearning courses as guided by Advisory Committee recommendations.
  • Maintain academic and professional competency.
  • Cooperate with faculty in meeting goals and objectives for the department.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in a business education or technologyrelated field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in a business education or technologyrelated field
  • Secondary education or community college teaching experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse racial ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as those with disabilities.

The Business Technologies and Administrative Careers (BTAC) department is seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach BTAC classes as needed at our Auburn and Kent campuses.
