The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care is looking for an Occupational Therapist to evaluate interpret findings and treat patients with complex physical dysfunctions and/or injuries involving both complex and/or specialized needs in an acute care setting.
- Provides quality patient care evaluation assessment and treatment appropriate for patients needs.
- Evaluates and instructs patients in appropriate treatment plans in order to achieve treatment goals.
- Participates in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommends opportunities for improvement in service quality.
- Attends and participates in educational programs and provides educational experiences as assigned.
- Demonstrates respect for all members of the University community in the course of performing ones duties and in response to administrators supervisors coworkers and customers.
- Represents the interests of the University of a Unit Leadership in the use of resources to meet service and productivity demands within unit goals and budgets; strives to promote continual process and quality improvement.
- Seeks opportunities to enhance ones own professional knowledge skills and abilities as they relate to ones current position and/or to prepare for potential future roles and overall career development.
- Performs special projects and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is required
- Entry level experience in acute care hospital setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Licenses/ Certifications:
- Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required
Desirable Qualifications:
- 13 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in one or more of the following patient care specialties in acute care setting including ICU cardiology burn orthopedics
- Demonstrates leadership abilities
- Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
- Job related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence.
