Job Description

As a Lead Systems Administrator you will oversee the nightshift IT operations ensuring system performance compliance and incident resolution. You ll lead a team troubleshoot technical issues enforce IT policies optimize workflows and mentor engineers. Your expertise will drive operational efficiency enhance security and support seamless collaboration between night and day teams.

Your Daily Tasks
  • Manage the nightshift Systems Engineering team ensuring adherence to performance standards and timely task completion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the nightshift team aligning operations with organizational objectives and ensuring seamless handovers to the dayshift teams.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of technical incidents within SLA timeframes.
  • Monitor system performance proactively identifying and mitigating risks or inefficiencies.
  • Enforce compliance with IT policies procedures and security standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of workflows incident resolutions and system changes for continuity and reference.
  • Provide handson guidance and support for complex technical issues.
  • Identify and resolve IT system risks before escalation.
  • Implement technical and operational improvements to enhance team efficiency and service delivery.
  • Mentor coach and train team members to strengthen technical and professional skills.

Requirements

The Qualifications We Seek

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in systems engineering or systems administration preferably with Linux expertise.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in hybrid IT environments including onpremises and cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure).
  • Strong understanding of IT operations incident management and troubleshooting processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration across time zones.
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks (preferred but not required).
  • Proven ability to implement operational improvements tailored to nightshift operations.
  • Willingness to work permanent night shifts and adapt to a 24/7 business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead inspire and manage technical teams in a nightshift setting.
  • Strong skills in team management conflict resolution and performance evaluation.
  • Ability to motivate and engage teams during offhours.
