*** Applicants seeking shortterm or parttime work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or instructionaltype positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular Board of Regents (BOR) and Civil Service employees (i.e. paid holidays/leave). Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for fulltime employees and up to 1 calendar year for parttime employees.

Full time/Part time: Fulltime 40 hrs/week)

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary


Other Conditions: Casual Hire temporary appointment is expected begin April 2025 or soon thereafter. Not to exceed 89 days.

Duties:

  1. Set up and maintain Kipuka technology lending program including updating policy use agreements for UH Hilo Kipuka Center.
  2. Schedule timely email updates.
  3. Share relevant contentfor Kipuka programs.
  4. Input Kipuka events to UH Hilo campus calendar.
  5. Manage and organizeKipukaswebsite as needed.
  6. Update website as relevant information changes within the semesters.
  7. Create graphics videos informational resources and content marketing for Kipukas Instagram page.
  8. Share relevant content covering Kipukas upcoming news and events in bimonthly newsletters.
  9. Engage with followers on social media.
  10. Attend weekly zoom meetings with office staff.
  11. Hosts virtual zoom meetings with units as needed for content searching.
  12. Email communication on a daily and weekly basis.
  13. Coordinate and participate in the activity creation planning groups of other university departments and offices. (eg: First Year Experience (orientation) Marketing and Social Media Advisory Group Campus Center Admissions and Financial Aid. This collaboration will be used to create brochures templates advertisements videos spreadsheets or to conduct research.
  14. Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in any field from an accredited university.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of UH Hilo programs and services.
  3. Previous experience working in a higher education institution.
  4. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software
  5. Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which

provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
