- Knowledge training and/or education in Accounting Business Finance or a related field
- Knowledge of assessment and taxation legislation
- Leadership experience in a municipal property taxation accounting financial or audit related role in a large complex organization

- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or a related professional designation

Conditions of Employment and Work Environment:

The Assessment and Taxation branch is crucial to Edmontons financial health collecting over 55 of the annual revenue needed for city services. The Manager of Tax Accounting plays a key role overseeing accounting and billing for approximately 430000 property tax accounts which contribute more than $2.5 billion in combined municipal tax revenue and provincial education taxes.
Reporting to the Director Taxation Operations this position leads teams that manage the preparation of tax products handle timesensitive accounting functions process payments and ensure accurate transactions. The Manager liaises with a large variety of internal and external stakeholders and plays a vital part in collecting GrantinLieu revenues and supporting complex city programs. With responsibilities ranging from strategic insight into corporate programs to resolving complex problems this position significantly impacts the Citys financial stability and revenue management.
