Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Chemistry at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a fulltime tenuretrack faculty position #104270 in Inorganic Chemistry at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1 2025.
The successful candidate will joina dynamic department with 33 fulltime faculty members offering ACScertified degrees in Chemistry and ASBMB accredited Biochemistry a MS degree in Chemistry and Ph.D. degrees in three interdisciplinary science programs (Computational Science Molecular Biosciences and Mathematics & Science Education). To learn more about our department please visit Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an externally funded nationally recognized research program in computational inorganic chemistry.
- Engage undergraduate masterslevel students and students from interdisciplinary doctoral programs in research activities.
- Enthusiastically and effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses in inorganic chemistry and related fields.
- Participate in departmental college university and community service activities.
Required Education
A terminal degree in chemistry or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with proposed research in computational inorganic chemistry and/or postdoctoral experience will receive special consideration.
