Job Description

LaGrange College seeks to fill a tenuretrack appointment in mathematics and data analytics at the assistant professor level beginning August 1 2025.

A doctoral degree in statistics mathematics data science or related field is required although outstanding ABD candidates will be considered. Successful candidates must complete the terminal degree by the end of their second year in the position. Applicants with a masters degree in data analytics and substantial teaching or professional experience in the field may also be considered for a nontenureline lectureship.

The successful candidate will join the newly formed Department of Business and Data Science offering opportunities to teach a range of undergraduate courses including core courses in the general curriculum core courses for mathematics majors and advanced data analytics topics. Candidates with expertise in data analytics and a vision for developing an undergraduate curriculum in data analytics will receive priority consideration. The teaching load is 24 credits annually (typically four 3credit courses per term). Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching professional development and institutional service as well as an understanding of and appreciation for the mission of liberal arts institutions.
