Job Description
Job Location: Candidate can opt for Seattle WA or Tempe AZ
Are you interested in helping Amazon ensure that customers make great purchase decisions and enable the worlds most recognized Brands using Amazon to have the best experience listing and selling their products The Transparency team is seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst who is excited about translating vast and complex data sets into actionable insight and simple and actionable and scalable solutions. To be successful in this role you must have a high capacity for Learn and Be Curious be comfortable dealing with ambiguity be an effective communicator and be organized. Our business moves rapidly and its important to be able to adapt to the latest changes in the business systems tools and techniques for extracting processing analyzing modeling and taking action on data. You will work directly with business stakeholders to define strategy and requirements and then lead projects from design through delivery.
This is a global role that will include interaction with brands tech teams business development operational teams and stakeholders across US EU CN IN JP and AU.
As a Business Analyst on the Transparency PM team you will focus on exciting and challenging problems including:
Translate basic datasets into actionable insights
Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
Influence and implement the teams approach to data
Guide and provide recommendations on focus areas and improvement opportunities for the business
Have indepth knowledge of the data available and how to collect it; periodically identify more advanced methods of query optimization
Utilize basic datamanipulation tools and crosscheck data to determine accuracy
Convert data to information through basic descriptions aggregations and pivots
Implement/deploy data visualization or communication tools (e.g. metrics dashboards decks flashes)
Share data with stakeholders to inform business decisions
Manage expectations; prioritize own workload and communicate status
Advanced SQL and Excel are required.
About the team
We are a team of smart hardworking and passionate PMs that like solving complex problems in a collaborative manner.
3 years of business or financial analysis experience
5 years of Excel (including VBA pivot tables array functions power pivots etc. and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
Experience with SQL
Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
3 years of business analyst data analyst or similar role experience
Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
Masters degree in finance accounting business economics engineering analytics mathematics statistics or a related technical or quantitative field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
