The Departures Tech team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our mission of transforming the offboarding experience for Amazonians. Were building innovative solutions that leverage Generative AI (GenAI) and Machine Learning to identify patterns and anomalies in departure data enabling datadriven decisions and insights. Our team is responsible for developing applications that streamline administrative tasks provide clear guidance and ensure a positive final experience with Amazon.
As a Software Developer youll be part of a team building enterprisescale applications that handle thousands of employee transitions globally. Youll work on systems that automate compliance workflows manage documentation and integrate with Amazons HR systems. Our tech stack leverages AWS services and advanced AI capabilities to ensure secure reliable and efficient processing of sensitive employee data.
Key job responsibilities Drive endtoend software development using AWS native services focusing on scalability and security. Design and implement solutions that meet availability target. Lead technical discussions and drive consensus across multiple stakeholder groups. Implement AI solutions to automate routine decisionmaking processes. Participate in an oncall rotation to maintain our response SLAs. Mentor team members and establish coding standards for the team. Stay curious and bring new ideas to solve complex problems.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience 2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language 2 years of programming on Java TypeScript Node Jsincluding objectoriented design experience
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
