The System Engineer plays a crucial role in the Amazon Robotics deployment team. They oversee the installation troubleshooting integration and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment in new and existing fulfillment centers (FCs). This field engineering based position demands strong technical skills for deploying robotic equipment including working with mechanical systems electrical configuring networking and coordinating software systems. While training is provided on the specific systems that the engineers will be working on a candidate should have foundational knowledge of robotics networked mechanical systems and electrical systems.
System engineers will work with a team of 15 engineers and collaborate with an onsite project manager to provide technical oversight on the installation of both third party and Amazon designed robotics equipment. These deployments require extensive collaboration with varies stakeholders including thirdparty installers contracted engineers construction hardware software IT and other partner teams. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with both internal and external partners and customers. As an Amazonian the candidate must demonstrate independent initiative to identify and solve problems in real time during deployments. They will also drive continuous improvement initiatives to avoid recurrences.
Systems engineers will be deploying the robotic systems in various phases of a product life cycle. When supporting new products the candidate require to lead the development of process documentation and modifying the existing processes. Strong technical understanding love for field work and a keen interest in diving deep into the understanding of Amazons robotics systems are key attributes for this role. As an Amazonian the ability to recognize process gaps and take ownership in developing solutions are important. Project duration can range from a few days to several months and include travel across the US. International work is available for candidates interested in pursuing. This position requires 75 travel. Valid US drivers license required.
**Relocation to Amazon Corporate offices in Seattle Boston or Austin will be required for the role.

Ability to capture lessons learned and drive technical continuous improvement projects.
Ability to function independently and manage a team of 15 engineers and related trades during deployments.
Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders working on the project to resolve crossfunctional deployment issues.
Ability to oversee and resolve escalations during robotics deployment including quality handoff live order testing site acceptance testing operational readiness testing monitoring robotics system performance etc.
Responsible for delivering projects by owning key KPIs around ontime delivery cost quality safety and sustainability.
Understanding of data collection reporting processes and ability to make datadriven decisions.
Key job responsibilities
Support and guide installation of robotic technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers. The systems engineer develop detailed knowledge of the operation of robotic systems and guide installation commissioning and troubleshooting of these systems both on site and remotely. The scopes vary significantly in length and include heavy travel to both live warehouses and new construction sites. The systems engineer will generate and implement continuous improvement ideas around their workscopes and lead teams of other engineers on projects.

About the team
The Robotics Deployment Engineering team consists of the field deployment teams for Amazons robotic warehouse systems. The teams travel frequently and work across overlapping projects to complete their deployment scopes and continuously improve our processes
BS degree in Engineering or closely related STEM field.
Experience working on mechanical electrical IT networked or software systems.
Understanding of data collection reporting processes and ability to make datadriven decisions.
Ability to read technical drawings and/or reading CAD models to resolve onsite clash issues using 3D clash detection reports.
Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems to resolve escalations including quality handoff live order testing site acceptance testing operational readiness testing monitoring robotics system performance etc.
Ability to read and develop technical documentation and process instructions
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
Willingness to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment in a fieldbased role and travel extensively across the US and potentially internationally.
Must be proficient in standard office software tools and processes
13 years of experience working in a field engineering construction manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanicalelectrical or networked industrial equipment.
Ability to demonstrate past use of data to drive decision making processes.
Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS DHCP TCP/IP routing switching HTTP).
Ability to take independent initiative when presented with a business need.
Knowledge of robot specific experience (Fanuc ABB) Allen Bradley PLC experience. C Python Java etc.
