Category Manager Retrofit Construction Global Procurement Operations GPO

This Category Manager Construction supports retrofits expansions and initiatives across Amazons global operations network by developing and implementing procurement strategies. The individual in this role will manage internal and external relationships.

We are seeking a leader with construction or procurement experience to strategically source products and services as part of our Global Procurement Organization. The person in this role will coordinate with several teams across Amazon and will interact with general contractors trade contractors and professional services suppliers to satisfy organizational requirements. The position will work and partner with multiple teams to develop and execute category sourcing strategies deliver savings and improve productivity across the category.



Key job responsibilities
Manage relationships with internal customers groups and ensure GPO is meeting their procurement needs.
Execute category sourcing strategies lead crossfunctional sourcing events negotiate with suppliers and execute contracts to optimize Amazons competitive position
Drive appropriate relationships with category suppliers with a principal objective of achieving the optimal solution and cost of ownership that meets the business goals supported by a culture of continuous improvement with performance benchmarks in use
Manage category suppliers to proactively identify and execute opportunities
Develop and implement Supplier Relationship Management activities to mitigate risk improve performance and add value to Amazon
Identify achieve and report on savings and value targets for category activities
Align with internal customers and understand the business application of the category

30 travel including occasional international travel

A day in the life
Earn trust with internal customers across various levels and geographies
Manage requests for Proposal (RFP) Information (RFI) and Quote (RFQ)
Identify and qualify new construction service contractors for direct or indirect use at Amazons Operations Facilities
Leverage existing procurement resources to benefit our internal customers
Build a comprehensive understanding of Amazons change management and construction processes across multiple business units and geographies
Understand problems pull people together and deliver results
Own commercial relationship with General Contractors and other construction suppliers

About the team
Our team strives to be a single point of contact for procurement support to our stakeholders. We are finding ways to move faster and more efficiently than ever before to deliver upgrades to capacity and associate experience across Amazons Operations network.

3 years of program or project management experience
3 years of working cross functionally with tech and nontech teams experience
2 years of supply chain experience
Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Experience defining and executing program requirements
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Travel up to 30 of the time
Bachelors degree
Construction experience including working with a General Contractor EngineerProcureConstruct (EPC) trade contractor or similar.

3 years of driving end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership experience
3 years of driving process improvements experience
Experience in stakeholder management dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
Experience building processes project management and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $77200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
