The Stanford Department of Pediatrics is committed to advancing the health of infants children and adolescents through innovative medical care research education training and advocacy. With over 400 pediatricians and pediatric subspecialties our department is one of the largest in the Stanford University School of Medicine. We offer broadbased training in general pediatrics critical care and pediatric subspecialties within a variety of ambulatory inpatient and community settings. Integrated with our educational activities these programs provide handson learning to equip our graduates with the skills theyll need as future advocates of childrens health.

At this time the Division of Allergy Immunology and Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital/Stanford University School of Medicine is recruiting a 12 years position as a faculty scholar who intends to be dedicated to the field of immunopsychiatry and is interested in gaining specialized expertise in clinical care of children/adolescents with Pediatric Acuteonset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome(PANS/PANDAS) Sydenhams Chorea postinfectious/autoimmune psychiatric disorders and associated autoimmune conditions including arthritis inflammatory bowel disease psoriasis lupus etc. The incumbent will be classified as a Clinician Instructor and mentorship will be provided by core clinicians and faculty in Pediatrics and Psychiatry within the Immune Behavioral Health (IBH) Clinic overseen by Clinical Professor of PediatricsRheumatology Stanford PANS Research Program Director and IBH Medical Director Jennifer Frankovich MD MS. Academic line will be determined by the qualification and experience of the successful candidate.
We expect the successful candidate to participate primarily in the care of patients under the care of the IBH service within the Division of Allergy Immunology Rheumatology. The goal of this position is to provide comprehensive training and mentorship focused on the development of advanced clinical skills in the diagnosis assessment and treatment of this complex patient population. Ideal candidates will be curious flexible resilient and willing to learn to administer and manage the care for patients with PANS. Candidates should be dedicated to the field of immunopsychiatry have an understanding or curiosity in basic cognitive behavior therapy and psychotic management and be willing to manage psychiatric disorders such as OCD and anxiety. All candidates regardless of background and expertise must also be willing to learn how to manage pharmacological interventions such as immunomodulation IVIG Rituximab other DMARD therapy including methotrexate sulfasalazine etc. The candidate will also be trained and expected utilize electronic questionnaires and REDCap to track patients/clinical data to improve future decision making. Active and ongoing involvement in clinical research projects will be strongly encouraged.
Your responsibilities will include: We expect the successful candidate to participate primarily in the care of patients under the care of IBH clinical inpatient and outpatient service. Upon completion of this clinical experience the expectation is that the candidate will have expertise to further disseminate evidencebased practices in PANS/PANDAS to new academic and community medical settings in the State of North Carolina.
Successful candidates should have an MD or equivalent degree with board eligibility or board certification in Psychiatry Rheumatology Pediatrics Immunology Neurology or other related discipline. Candidate must have medical licensure in California by the appointment start date.

The expected base pay range for this position is $148000$152000 annually
This pay range reflects base pay which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
