Job Summary: The Network Administrator II provides technical network communications support including network (LAN/WAN) infrastructure installation configuration maintenance and troubleshooting. This role is responsible for implementing managing and maintaining network hardware such as routers switches wireless access points and controllers. The position ensures the reliability and security of network operations and works collaboratively with stakeholders to optimize network performance.
Primary Responsibilities: 1. Network Operations and Maintenance 55
Provide daily technical support for network infrastructure including both wired and wireless data transport.
Assist with the design installation and configuration of networking hardware and software components.
Troubleshoot and resolve critical outages and escalated enduser technical issues.
Travel within a 50mile radius of the primary work location for onsite network support.
Respond to ServiceHub tickets providing troubleshooting and escalation support.
Diagnose and resolve network issues prioritize workload and implement network solutions.
2. Project Engagement 10
Provide technical recommendations on network infrastructure for projects.
Order circuits coordinate structured cabling and install network equipment.
Participate in smallscale networkrelated projects working with internal teams and external vendors.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of network components in projects.
3. Documentation and Monitoring 10
Maintain uptodate network infrastructure documentation configurations and records.
Design and configure monitoring and event notification systems to maximize uptime.
Participate in incident response and afteraction review processes.
Update and close service desk tickets in a timely manner.
4. Vendor Engagement 10
Coordinate with vendors and consultants for networkrelated services including structured cabling and remote assistance.
Manage circuit orders upgrades and cancellations.
Schedule meetings and site walkthroughs for vendor assessments.
Track vendor progress and ensure project milestones are met.
5. Inventory and Asset Management 15
Maintain records of network hardware and software assets including version tracking for software updates.
Ensure proper maintenance coverage for network devices.
Track and manage network equipment turnover and refresh cycles.
Minimum Qualifications:
Comptia Network certification or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network infrastructure components.
Experience with network operations VLAN management ACLs and troubleshooting methodologies.
Ability to use network management tools and protocols such as SNMP CLI and monitoring platforms.
Strong analytical problemsolving and customer service skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Experience working with ServiceNow ticketing systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Cisco Meraki network equipment including configuration and support of switches and MX appliances.
Python scripting and automation experience for network administration.
