- Unity Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab service support and supply management. Our customized service offerings and outstanding service guides have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customers laboratorys business needs.
- What will you do
- Use inventory/order management electronic systems to perform the following activities: onsite program replenishments and disbursements receiving putaway stock rotation cycle counts order entry and expediting customer service call resolution product returns and backorder processing
- Perform laboratory services glassware & biological waste processing chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation and media preparation
- Proactively raise any customer concerns and/or potential problems and optimally address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes.
- Involvement with safety programs such as hazard identification inspections and incident reporting
- Engage in process improvement activities
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
- How will you get here
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience
- 2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting is helpful. Experience working in customer service is also a plus.
- Knowledge Skills Abilities
- Able to read write and speak English fluently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientifics values including confidentiality.
- Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer and the interpersonal skills to collaborate
- Independently operates handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.
- Demonstrates computer proficiency including the Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses interpersonal skills to multitask and meet due dates as needed.
- Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Works primarily at customer sites which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemicalbased allergens are in use (such as penicillin tetracycline etc)
- Depending on the area of the building personal protective equipment may be worn including lab coats coveralls hoods facemasks hairnets safety gloves steeltoe shoes (required for all colleagues) bump hats and/or safety glasses.
- Regularly required to lift 30 40lbs and up to 50lbs occasionally.
- Regularly use equipment including pushcarts pallet jacks mobile cylinders forklifts etc. to push/pull up to 100lbs
- Regularly required to stand walk and conduct manual material handling (twisting bending reaching lifting etc. for prolonged periods.
- Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms outside etc.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
