The Amazon Shipping team is looking for a Learning & Development Manager to develop worldclass learning solutions for our internal Commercial and Sales teams including Account Managers Business Development Managers and operational support teams across Amazon Shipping. In this position you will be an architect and leader in creating and improving learning products from new hire onboarding programs and monthly skill assessments to training on new tool launches and industryrelevant continuous improvement initiatives. You will work on instructional design projects that utilize your expertise in learning theory instructional technologies and human performance technology to enhance the performance of Amazonians. The solutions you create will enable improved employee experience shorten lead times to proficiency and provide performance support at the point of need. This includes performing needs assessments to identify learning objectives with business stakeholders designing developing testing and rapidly iterating instructional content for your audience and developing knowledge and performance observation assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training. As a Learning & Development Manager you will own the end to end design and development of learning solutions while supporting multiple learning programs and products across the Amazon Shipping portfolio.
Key job responsibilities
Discover and Innovate: partner with business stakeholders to understand program goals and define the learning solution that will make their programs successful
Design and Develop: create performancefocused training content that engages our learners ensuring content is ready for localization and deployment in international marketplaces
Design and Develop: create bar raising learning tools performance support aids practice tests online tutorials and other materials to meet identified needs
Design and Develop: create tests quizzes and other assessments to ensure learner understanding and performance
Deliver Results: manage your projects amidst ambiguity competing priorities and challenging deadlines
Design Leadership: raise the bar for learning design excellence within critical verticals across the Executive Development landscape
Travel may be required up to 30
BA or BS degree
5 years of work experience in instructional design and training
3 years working in the leadership development space
Experience with adult learning theory instructional design principles and learning industry trends and best practices.
Program management and administration skills
Knowledge of instructional theories
A deep understanding of DEI concepts theories and practices.
Demonstrated experience building scalable engaging learnercentered interventions.
Demonstrated experience with key technologies such as Storyline Captivate Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent.
Proven ability to collaborate and influence across crossfunctional teams in global environment without positional authority.
Proven analytical capabilities; experience deriving relevant insights trends and themes from large amounts of data and developing summary reports for consumption by senior stakeholder.
Demonstrated proficiency in assessing training effectiveness and ROI to stakeholders and leaders.
Proven track record of serving in a trusted advisor capacity to customers and executives.
Successful track record of building implementing and improving operational processes; familiarity with continuous process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or LEAN.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
