Job Description

Job Summary
The Integrated Media Department at Gonzaga University in Spokane WA is seeking a fulltime tenuretrack Assistant Professor to teach broadcast television and video production 3/3 load) beginning Fall 2023. Expectations include teaching undergraduate courses in multicamera studio production (primarily in the GUTV studio) broadcast journalism and video production. Ability to teach the department introductory course Media Literacy is desirable as well as the upperdivision Emerging Media course that focuses on creating and distributing content across media platforms. Teach three courses per semester with topics covering all aspects of beginning through advanced studio production including producing directing scriptwriting multicamera operations editing switching sound graphics and relevant software Teach proper usage of field broadcasting cameras and audio equipment Support the department and university through advising service and other forms of academic citizenship Maintain an active record of professional development

Minimum Qualifications
PhD MFA MA or MS in broadcast journalism or related field At least 2 years professional and/or teaching experience with multicamera TV studio production Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level Demonstrated ability to support and mentor underrepresented and underserved students and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
