Warehouse Operations Manager

The Role

Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision of all warehouse activities receiving proper storage to maintain product quality picking orders and loading of product for shipping. This position is also responsible for loss prevention as it pertains to warehouse equipment property and employee bodily injuries. This position encompasses the overall P&L including labor management of the day warehousing functions.     

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

• Oversee Warehouse Operations including Receiving Operations Support Quality/Inventory Control Sanitation Ripening Repack and Shipping.
• Manage employee performance hiring and corrective counseling with support from Operations and HR
• Monitoring evaluating and improving KPIs to achieve Operations performance objectives.
• Monitor all activities during the day to ensure the smooth operation of the Warehouse teams.
• Ensure proper slot replenishment following the first in first out procedure. 
• Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to receive products at the facility in a productive and costefficient manner.
• Directs the daytoday activities of the warehouse. Such activities include receiving forklift movement inventory/quality control and sanitation.
• Responsible for warehouse labor distribution and monitoring overtime rates
• Communicating inventory status such as out of stock product(s) to pickers receiving errors picking errors and warehouse slotting of products.
• Generates warehouse productivity reports (i.e. KPIs piece count report/ through put) in regard to receiving rates and accounts for all labor hours both direct and indirect. Monitors and standardizes labor distribution requirements and works toward attaining objectives and division goals within budget.
• Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of OSHA local and state regulations.
• Responsible for organizing the maintenance of warehouse equipment and all necessary repairs with outside vendors. Ensures warehouse personnel have safe efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.
• Recommends equipment requirements and replacement to the GM in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
• Responsible for supporting all Food Safety and Warehouse Safety Initiatives.
• Supports manages and implements SQF requirements ongoing. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Peripheral Duties: 

• Support and implement SQF food safety workplace safety and quality assurance initiatives
• Support and implement the companys initiatives to promote positive employee morale and team building.

Qualifications :

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in a related field; or five 5 or more years experience in material management type operations.
• Selfstarter strategic and independent thinker with excellent business acumen.
• Excellent time management and capable of meeting work schedule deadlines.
• Adaptability/Flexibility with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved.
• Working knowledge of general workplace safety practices (CalOSHA).
• Strong planning and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage change and facilitate the implementation of new food safety programs.
• Strong and wellorganized communicator both written and verbal.
• Organized and able to multitask and delegate effectively.
