Job Description
The Principal TPM will be responsible for the of critical programs within the Conversational Assistant Services team of Alexa.
CASs vision is to drive cuttingedge innovation in AI systems and models to deliver transformative and indispensable assistant experiences for customers across all languages modalities and devices. We develop advanced multimodal large language models and AI systems that transform the Alexa experience for customers. The systems we build deliver highly personalized customer conversations while autonomous agents built on our proactive platform carry out customer needs just as a human concierge would. We build LLM optimization systems that help partners with rapid application development.
The Principal TPM will orchestrate across hundreds of teams within Alexa Devices and AGI organization to define workstreams identify dependencies and gather commitments across teams to help deliver the most critical projects for the org. This is a TPM of TPMs role where the interaction isnt with a single technical team instead they will deliver results across 4 L8 teams and in partnership with several partner teams.
Key job responsibilities
Define and deliver critical programs across multiple teams within CAS AGI Alexa and other internal customer teams. Setting milestones that help achieve the program target dates.
Standup mechanisms to track and communicate progress towards delivery dates.
Effectively communicate with all levels of leadership they should be able to represent complex decisions tradeoffs and solutions in various forums.
Identify and resolve roadblocks and conflicts that originate during program . Partner with PMs Science and Engineering teams to resolve issues.
Build relationships and manage by influence in a matrix organization to solve complex AI problems with tight timelines
Define and execute Program Management best practices across the different CAS science and engineering teams to help raise the bar on the of our team.
Manage a queue of customer facing issues and feature requests to improve the new functionalities of Alexa.
A day in the life
Drive alignment on plans that span multiple internal and external teams. Prepare and present schedule risks and roadmap status. Drive clarity on ongoing roadblocks and misalignments and collaborate with the cross functional teams on mitigations.
7 years of technical product or program management experience
10 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
5 years of software development experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
8 years of handson work managing complex technology projects experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience working with AI machine learning and science teams. Ideally experience with Conversational Assistants such as Alexa.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
