Summary of Job Duties:

ASK Desk Guest Assistants serve as representatives of the college who have energetic and positive attitudes about UALR and the college experience. They serve as role models for incoming college students. Specific duties are designated by the department hiring manager to include but are not limited to customer service campus tours and public speaking. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Degreeseeking UA Little Rock student enrolled in classes at the time of application;

  • Currently classified as a freshman sophomore junior or senior and in good academic standing;

  • Eligible to legally work 20 hours per week in the United States;

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule;

  • Experience with UA Little Rock technology and accounts (Qless BOSS Email Blackboard).

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Customer service experience preferred

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as representatives of the college;

  • Energetic and positive attitudes about UALR and the college experience;

  • Serve as role models for incoming college students;

  • Specific duties are designated by the department hiring manager to include but are not limited to customer service campus tours and public speaking;

  • Ability to answer common questions regarding Admissions Financial Aid and other student services offices;

  • Ability to effectively communicate in person while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.

Knowledge Abilities and Skills:

  • Knowledge of UA Little Rock as a whole including campus buildings operations academic colleges campus events and student services;

  • Serving as a concierge to all students and guests who are transitioning to UA Little Rock;

  • Maintain a professional present and engaged demeanor;

  • Knowledge and understanding of the FERPA Privacy Act;

  • Selfstarter;

  • Prompt and dependable;

  • Conflict resolution skills.
