Job Summary
Gateway Community and Technical College invites applications for the (Student Only) PartTime position of Chemistry Lab Student Assistant. The parttime Lab Assistant will assist the chemistry department instructor in organizing and maintaining a clean and safe chemistry laboratory.
Job Duties:
- Organize inventory and label chemicals and supplies in the chemistry laboratory.
- Help prepare stock solutions clean glassware and assist in general laboratory duties.
- Assist chemistry instructor as necessary to maintain a safe and clean laboratory.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Hours: Up to 20 hours per week; flexible between 8 AM 6 PM Monday through Friday.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to pay attention to detail follow specific instructions and perform math calculations up to a college algebra level.
- Willingness to learn about chemistry chemical hazards and OSHA guidelines.
- Dependable able to maintain an agreedupon schedule professional courteous and able to work well with the supervisor and others.
- Understand and follow safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chemistry or physical science major preferred.
