Position Highlights:
Responsible for processing and distributing of patient specimens for lab testing adhering to department standard operating procedures. May analyze evaluate and report patient results. May collect and transport patient specimens. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment represent the lab in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service. Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patients plan of care.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy Experience required
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative teamwork and flexibility required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in clinical laboratory medicine preferred.
- CNA -or- Lab Tech certification preferred.
- Direct patient care experience or completion of Phlebotomy course or
- Post-secondary education in a laboratory or health-related field preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Computer experience preferred.
- Attention to detail preferred.
- Ability to multitask preferred.
- PBT (ASCP) depending on area of responsibility preferred.
