General Summary: Ensures that MPS systems that rely on network infrastructure to function many of which are not directly supported by the MPS Technology Division are able to function and be used by District personnel.
Essential Functions:
- Works with external vendors on project planning for network integrated systems. This position supports network connectivity for the below mentioned Internet of Things (IOT) systems.
- HVAC ( Structureware Honeywell)
- Lighting (e.g. NLight)
- Irrigation/Watering Controllers
- Primex Clock Controllers
- Egauge Electricity Monitoring
- TimeClocks for Hourly Staff
- Scorevision Systems
- Hudl Focus Cameras and other Activity/Athletic based systems
- eSports
- Digital Signage
- Other systems as identified by the District Technology Manager
- Works with external service providers to establish connections to the MPS network as needed.
- Plans and deploys audio/visual equipment in accordance with District standards and other network integrated systems as directed by the District Technology Manager.
- Works closely with the Instructional Technologyteam to facilitate the hardware implementation of Digital Manipulatives
- When directed installs and maintains necessary equipment for WAN LAN & WLAN.
- Works with industry standard tools to monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity.
- Works with Curriculum and Technologystaff to provide technical support when audio/visual standards are research and developed.
- Other duties as directed by the Executive Director of Technology or the District Technology Manager.
Qualifications:
- Education Level: Minimum requirement one or more years postsecondary course work in Network Management Computer Science Audio/Visual industry or another related field. Associate or Bachelor degree in Network Management Computer Science or another related field preferred.
- Certification or Licensure: Minimum requirement None. Network or other related network certifications preferred.
- Experience desired: Two or more years experience in network integrated systems audio/visual and project planning.
- Other requirements: Knowledge of networking and audio/visual systems.
