Description

Organization Overview:The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are wellestablished Manhattan communitybased agencies that support services to approximately 30000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York Citys leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children youth and families homeless individuals and older adults throughout Manhattan and New York City. We work every day for a fair and just society where all people have the opportunity to make choices that lead to better lives for themselves and their families.

Program Description:Goddards newest endeavor will be a transitional Site for adult families. This site will be a place where families can feel safe receive resources and supportive services while becoming acclimated to and part of the community.

The Restgate is an emergency capacity transitional site located in Long Island City Queens.

Position Summary: Provide oversight direction support and supervision to the team at the Restgate Hotel Sanctuary Site located in Long Island City Queens. The residence has 39 units for families seeking asylum in NYC. The Program Director is responsible for overall program quality and performance.

Schedule:Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Salary Range:$86000 $90000

Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salaryoffer will be basedonthe candidates number of years experience in the exact orcomparableposition and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Roles Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Role Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Oversee the daytoday operations and administration of the program.
  • Provide direct and consistent supervision to Assistant Program Director Administrative Assistant and Case Management team.
  • Recruit hire train develop supervise and evaluate staff regularly and consistently.
  • Provide supervision to staff; promote staff development evaluate their work and initiate performance improvement plans when required.
  • Support evidencebased practice models including person centered planning motivational interviewing trauma informed care culturally sensitive and strengthsbased approach.
  • Establish and cultivate professional and positive relationships with residents.
  • Oversee the coordination of referrals within the community such as medical mental health ESOL job training and legal assistance.
  • Stay informed on all contract requirements ensure compliance and assist in completion of documentation/funder reporting
  • Assist teams in completing 2010Es and voucher assistance.
  • Ensure documentation including incident reporting is completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed for residents.
  • Plan and troubleshoot with facilities and security staff.
  • Meeting with operations and security staff for planning and site management.
  • Oversee rosters and attendance is updated in real time.
  • Lead team meetings and weekly communications and updates
  • Attend biweekly agency Department Head meetings.
  • Ensure quality and integrity of services and program.
  • Oncall responsibilities and shift coverage for 24/7 operation rotating oncall with APD
  • Ability to conduct pop ins at site
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in human services field required.
  • Masters degree in social work or human services field preferred.
  • 2 years of strong supervisory experience required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.
  • Experience working onsite in a congregate housing setting.
  • Knowledgeable on immigration laws procedures and benefits/entitlements with the ability to stay up to date with changing procedures.
  • Strong understanding of trauma and how it manifests as well as experience delivering traumainformed culturally sensitive services.
  • F80 Certification required within 90 days of hire.

  • Ability to develop implement and manage systems and processes.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and able to showcase this knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to negotiate numerous priorities and manage a high degree of communication with multiple parties.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with upper management and agency resources when needed.
  • Excellent judgement

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn data base systems such as CARES

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Indoors at residence
  • Frequent walking and standing
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
