Overview
The IT Manager (Hardware & Security) plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality availability and security of all IT hardware and systems within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of IT professionals and coordinating efforts to manage maintain and enhance the organizations IT infrastructure. The IT Manager collaborates with other departments to align technology initiatives with business goals while safeguarding sensitive data from potential threats. By implementing effective security protocols and disaster recovery plans the IT Manager mitigates risks associated with hardware failures and cyber threats. Continuous monitoring of the IT landscape and staying abreast of emerging technologies are vital for the role ensuring optimal performance and reliability of IT systems. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership skills technical acumen and a strategic approach to IT management ultimately contributing to the organizations overall efficiency and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the IT hardware and security team ensuring high performance.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures related to hardware management and security.
- Oversee installation configuration and maintenance of hardware systems.
- Ensure the security of the organizations IT infrastructure and sensitive data.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in hardware and systems.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers for hardware procurement and support.
- Coordinate disaster recovery plans and testing to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor and evaluate hardware performance to suggest improvements.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardwarerelated issues.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in hardware technology and security best practices.
- Collaborate with IT staff to develop training programs on security protocols.
- Prepare and manage IT budgets for hardware and security initiatives.
- Report on IT hardware and security performance to upper management.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding data security.
- Identify and implement costeffective solutions for hardware management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in IT management or a related role.
- Strong understanding of hardware systems networking and security protocols.
- Proven experience with project management methodologies.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security CISSP) advantageous.
- Indepth knowledge of IT best practices and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management in IT.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in vendor management and negotiation.
- Capable of developing and executing strategic security plans.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as GDPR or HIPAA.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
