Job Description
Overview
Plans and participates in motor and movement recreational activities for students ages 521 with developmental disabilities.
We currently offer two Saturday recreation programs one with a focus on recreation and the other with a focus on social skills for children with autism. All programs include a wide range of skill enhancement through music arts and crafts cooking movement dance and indoor and outdoor play. Swimming in the outdoor pool is available during the summer months.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the supervisor develops and implements motor activities that teach and encourage group participation.
- Provide activities that are appropriate for the functional and physical abilities of the students.
- Participates and assists in special events as needed.
- Performs additional related activities as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities.
Physical aspects may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring of an adult/student.
