We are seeking a Forward Deployment Engineer Applied AI to develop and deploy novel applications leveraging Googles generative AI models. This role focuses on rapidly developing new features and working across partner teams to deliver solutions and maximize impact for Google & top Google customers. You will be instrumental in translating cuttingedge AI research into realworld products and demonstrating the capabilities of latest generation models. We are looking for engineers with a strong track record of building and shipping software ideally with experience in earlystage environments where they have contributed to scaling products from initial concept to production. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to drive product & business impact.

The role
This role requires a strong software engineering foundation and a passion for building and iterating on software products. We are looking for engineers who thrive in fastpaced environments and have a proven ability to deliver highquality code. Experience in prototyping building and scaling software is essential. We particularly value experience in earlystage or startup environments where engineers take ownership and drive product development from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable software applications leveraging generative AI models.
- Rapidly prototype new features and iterate based on evaluation results.
- Collaborate with researchers and product managers to translate research advancements into tangible product features.
- Optimize software performance and ensure reliability of deployed applications.
- Contribute to the development of best practices for building and deploying generative AI applications.
About you
In order to set you up for success as a Forward Deployment Engineer at Google DeepMind we look for the following skills and experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- 1 year of experience with core GenAI concepts (LLM MultiModal Large Vision Models) and experience with text image video or audio generation.
- 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g. model deployment model evaluation optimization data processing debugging).
- Proven experience in rapidly developing and shipping software products.
- Deep understanding of software development best practices including testing & deployment.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure (e.g. Google Cloud Platform AWS Azure).
- Substantial experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow PyTorch Hugging Face etc.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
The US base salary range for this fulltime position is between $141000 $244000 bonus equity benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
