Were currently searching for a Coordinator for Inclusion & Belonging to join our Residential Wellbeing team in Blacksburg VA to help us in our mission. HERES WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE:
1 Youll be joining the Residential Wellbeing team; a department centered on creating intentional residential communities that are characterized by belonging flourishing compassion for self and others and meaningful engagement.
2 Youll be reporting to a Managing Director in Residential Wellbeing in a Regular twelvemonth 100 administrative professional appointment.
3 Youll be responsible for championing programs that allow students to develop meaningful relationships build competencies and skills recognize and value the diversity that is present within the Hokie Nation and learn to live the Principles of Community. The Coordinator is responsible for helping students and the Virginia Tech community strengthen listening skills increase empathy facilitate healthy relationships and foster a sense of belonging for all students.
4 Youll lead a team of approximately 1525 Residential Wellbeing Student Leaders for Inclusion & Belonging who live in the residence halls and work to ensure that every student is engaged at the optimal level.
5 Youll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
6 Youll be offered a base compensation package between $44000 $46000 with an oncampus apartment or $50000$52000 along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance paid leave retirement tuition assistance VT discounts and so much more!

And in our new model professional staff and student leaders are assigned to a group of students rather than to buildings. These changes may sound small but they underscore philosophical transformation at the heart of Residential Wellbeing

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a related field
Teamoriented and demonstrate adaptability and initiative
Demonstrate vision and creativity in program design and promotion
Strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrate a growth mindset and embrace change as an opportunity for creativity learning and improvement.
Demonstrate a desire to promote diversity and inclusion to foster a safe welcoming environment for students.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in a relevant field
Experience with campus DEIB efforts
Creativity in identifying brainstorming implementing and evaluating programs and services for unmet needs of underserved and underrepresented communities
Ability to respond effectively to crises
Experience working with students in a complex educational setting

Work Schedule

Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm with evening meetings weekly and oncall throughout the month
